BHLP Alternative Break - Baltimore, Maryland
The Blue Hen Leadership Program's (BHLP) newest Alternative Spring Break trip will take students to Baltimore, Maryland, to work with a variety of non-profit organizations. Students will be working with the Baltimore Tool Bank, the 6th Branch and other local agencies to help with constructing new urban farms, turning vacant lots into community playgrounds, and working with citizens experiencing homelessness.
Alternative Breaks offer great opportunities to make new friends, reflect on a personal level, learn new insights about service and community engagement, and gain a greater appreciation for what we usually take for granted.

This experience allows student participants to deepen their understanding of leadership, service, and community engagement while helping a small town become a better community. Past participants of this trip have said the experience "is one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had," while another student noted that "going to sleep exhausted every night feels great when you know that it's because you've impacted someone's life for the better!"
